Mostly Armless

Since my last entry, we've gotten back the computer that was broken. There turned out, per my big brother who is functionally geekly, to be nothing wrong with it that giving it more time to boot up wouldn't cure. (And, amazingly, that was after my dad dropped it bringing it into BB's basement tech-lab.) So we've retrieved the files that were lost, and they're being put on CD-RWs so they won't be lost again if anything go wrong in a coming upgrade of that machine. (Yes, sweet bird, I know you made me promise never to let my dad do anything remotely geekly again, but this time he's having the decency to back the files up, and there's a computer or two ready to put them on, so we have enough fallback positions that it's not totally unsafe. Then again, given that the CD-RW drive he was using to carry out those evacuations is getting reamed...)

My obsession with eating pie and getting doppy continues apace. I actually spent perfectly good time looking for quizzes that would tell me which of the cast I was. Three out of five agreed:

Motto "No rule is solid"? Love of all that is untrue and incorrect, keeping him from accomplishing much? That sure sounds like me.

Let's hope it doesn't stay that way, though. I put in an application at Target's local warehouse center. This has in turn led to a job interview. Before too long, we should see whether the interview leads to gainful employment (and even less time to update), but I'm hopeful.
