1 Hera, A.S. XXXVIII (Jun. 01, 2003) - 3:49 p.m. The Slacktrix has me......Now, see, [the carrot] and [Voldegreen] be damned, *that's* the sort of thing a journal's *there* for. She's right, you know. I set this thing up as a place to say whatever came to my mind, and to talk about what's going on in my life. The problem, as I may have already said, is that there's not a lot going on in my life, and I have the attention span of a gnat on a sugar rush. I'll see something and think "Boy, this would be neat to link to," and then utterly forget it by the time I'm ready to write a new entry in this thing. And on the political front, other people have me beat. They can combine ready access to actual facts with the kind of wit I only get when I'm particularly in the zone. Like when the great Pat R. delivered this knockout punch: Meanwhile, the administration’s apologists continue with their boringly-familiar tactics of dumping on Clinton, hilariously exaggerated self-righteous posturing, and trying to bludgeon dissent into silence. You can see my praise for it there, along with an elaboration on the writings of the much-missed Paul Riddell (currently seen making frequent guest appearances on Jay's blog). Pat R. doesn't have a blog (that he linked to, at least), but many more deserving political commentators do, like Adam Felbers (Pat's host, in case you didn't notice), and Kevin Drum, and Atrios, Hesiod, and the Horse, and the incomparable Bob Somerby. These people and others like them provide a valuable service in the fight against all the Republicans and their dupes who are living in their own little Matrix, which segues neatly into... ![]() Which Agent Smith are you? Good deal. Even if it weren't, there are worse Smiths to be. Plushy Smith, for instance. (Warning [added 2 Hera]: may induce cavities, sugar shock, vomiting, and/or a desire to say, "The brown acid is not the red pill.") -30-
