Utterly irrelevant and proud of it

There is no emotion, there is peace.
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is serenity.
There is no death, there is the Force.

Thankfully, not everyone takes themselves as seriously as I do. MegaZone, for instance, of Eyrie infamy, was actually quite gentlemanly about the MOT treatments of several Eyrie works.

Personally, I think their thoughts of rewriting the early UF stories to "fit better" with the current ones would be a sign, if ever implemented, that they are starting to take themselves too seriously. The casual tone of a world in which the Dirty Pair can accidentally be scanned from a graphics file into reality, and where a student union launches into space, fits just fine with the world seen in the Future Imperfect stories, where Skuld can call on the WDF to help fight the Ragnarok, where Kaitlyn can meet Utena, where Barrayar was occupied by the Cardassians, Troi is from Beta Colony, Babylon 5 6 orbits Bajor, and Gryphon is on a first-name basis with all four alien ambassadors.

Admittedly, the bit where he said they include some concepts (DJ Croft probably among them) specifically because they'll give the fanboys conniptions — that gave me cause for concern. If he'd said that they look at concepts, say "This will give the fanboys conniptions" and then say "Oh well," I'd have been less worried.

And, on the musical tip, this synchs up nicely with this. Seriously.
